Are We There Yet?
It’s no secret that humans are an impatient species. We’re always in a hurry to get to the future as if happiness is waiting for us at the end of the journey. But what if we’re looking in the wrong place? What if happiness is not a destination, but something that can be found right here in the present moment?
Most people are so focused on getting to the future that they miss out on all the wonders of life happening right in front of them. They’re too busy reliving past memories or daydreaming about an imaginary tomorrow.
But what if we learned to appreciate the present moment instead? What if we brought ourselves into the now and experienced life as it happens?
The Danger of Living in the Past
The older someone gets, the more “past” and the less “future” they have, so it’s natural for people to reminisce about the good old days.
Living in the past can be dangerous. It keeps us stuck in a cycle of longing, instead of creating new and exciting experiences in the present moment. This can lead to depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues that keep people from enjoying life as it is meant to be enjoyed.
The longer you live in the past, the less future you have to enjoy!
