I would like to extend a hearty welcome to all of you.

Squid Game isn’t just a Netflix sensation; it’s a cultural phenomenon that has captivated millions around the globe. With its brutal yet thought-provoking games, the series isn’t just about survival — it’s an unsettling mirror reflecting societal inequalities, human nature, and the pitfalls of financial desperation.

At its core, Squid Game shows us what happens when unchecked greed, debt, and poor financial decisions spiral out of control: Our lives will be literally on the line!

While Season 1 gave us chills, the first episode of Season 2 really struck a chord with me. I binged through the whole rest in a mere two days.

You see, the recruiter’s symbolic choice — offering poor beggars either bread or a lottery ticket — drove home the fragile balance between desperation and hope. Still, 99% of them all chose the lottery ticket.

What a waste.

This simple yet profound metaphor reminds us of the financial risks we often take when blinded by circumstance.
