I invest in both, they are complementary in my view and come with different perks - one is more liquid and flexible, the other gives the ultimate access to leverage and tax breaks.
Stocks are easier and more hands-off while real estate needs much more attention and TLC (tender loving care) over time. With real estate you can make better deals though as it's always on a 1:1 basis while on the stock market it's you vs. the market mood (fear or greed).
Never ever focus or limit yourself only on one of the two, ever! Financial literacy advocates us to learn and study about both of them!
And yes, I do hate these one-sided-hater screams as well, but hey, haters gonna hate, and if you got haters it means they are "engaged"... hahaha.
Cheers!
