I'm 45 now, and I've lost some friends left and right to "health-related-issues" already. For me, the most important point here is, why people always think of 65 as being "retirement age"? It's because back in the days when retirement got invented (by Otto von Bismarck in Germany) most people wouldn't make it beyond 65 anyways... well, the average expected living expectancy for a 65 year old was just around 5 more years for very long. Imagine that.

Instead of living expectancy - or "lifespan" - I like to relate to another super crucial number, it's called "health-span".

Check the health-span in your society, as you don't want to save-up and work till your health starts to detoriate. This is the most dangerous lifedesign flaw out there: Know thy healthspan!

I hope everything turns out well for your cousin-in-law and I wish y'all a very happy new year nevertheless, much health, wealth and happiness!
