Making Mondays Great Again: Turning “Cases of the Mondays” to MonYays!
Do you ever wake up on a Monday morning feeling down?
If so, you’re not alone.
While I’m not a doctor with an advanced degree in applied Mondaying, I might take an educated guess you might be suffering from what’s known as the “case of the Mondays.”
The case of the Mondays is a more or less fictitious disorder associated with the tiredness, irritability or distractedness that comes from returning to work after the weekend.
The good news first: It’s not “terminal”!
Isn’t it amazing how our culture celebrates weekends in a way that can make Monday morning blues worse than they need to be.
We almost treat weekend days as if they were little holidays, where anything goes and work can wait until Monday.
This creates an artificial sense of deprivation when we have to go back to our routines; hence, “the case of the Mondays” or Monday blues.
But why?
Life is full of possibility and opportunity, no matter what day it is or what time it is.
Let’s take this Monday as an opportunity to create an even better life for ourselves than ever before.
