There are many benefits to financial independence. For starters, when you have enough assets and passive income to support your lifestyle without having to work or rely on someone else for financial assistance, you have the freedom to choose how you want to live your life.

You’re no longer constrained by money; instead, you can use it as a tool to unlock freedom and pursue your passions.

Isn’t that what life is all about?

I remember when I was younger and still in school, all I could think about was getting a good job with a big, fat, steady paycheck. The standard social narrative. I thought that was the key to happiness — to have a good job and earn enough money to support myself and my family. And so, after a few stints of self-exploration, I began my career, working hard and climbing up the corporate ladder.

However, somewhere along the way, I realized that having a job didn’t necessarily mean having financial security. In fact, it was quite the opposite. There were certain costs involved in holding my job and if I lost my job, I would be in serious trouble. And so I started to contemplate if that’s all that is to life?
