The Power of “Walk the Talk” Parenting
We’ve all heard the saying “walk the talk.” It’s a popular expression that is often used in business, but it can and should, even more, be applied to parenting. The idea behind walk-the-talk parenting is not about telling your kids what to do or how to behave, but rather about setting an example for them, living your best life possible.
Disclaimer: I’m not a parenting expert. I’m simply a father of two and uncle to ten who figured out how inspiring your kids worked for me. Hence, this article is me sharing my thoughts, experiences, and observations rather than some ivory tower knowledge.
In essence, I’ve figured walk-the-talk parenting might probably be the single most important parenting advice I’ve never read or heard of yet.
Walk the talk parenting makes parenting easier, more effective, and works.
So, how can you incorporate this into your family life?
1. Lead by Example
Most kids don’t listen too well to what we say to them, but they never stop watching and observing our behavior; if we strive to live our best lives with integrity and authenticity, they will likely follow our example.
Your kids will learn more from your behavior and how you handle situations than anything else you try to teach them with words.
