The Surprising Skiing Lesson That You Can Apply to Your Career and Investments
Today I brought the girls up to the glacier area of Mont Fort in Verbier and we enjoyed a beautiful sunny day on the slopes together. Today’s slopes were longer and steeper as compared to yesterday, hence, the lesson of the day was “how to glide and slide” on your skis!
I quickly realized teaching this concept is something that goes way beyond just skiing. And no matter how you want to learn to apply it, it always means you got to unlearn something else that you’ve learned before already.
You may apply this lesson in your career, life, as well as with your investments!
So, what did I learn?
Let’s slide in!
What got you here, won’t get you there
In a way, it seems unfair.
It’s like once you figured out how to ski, how to steer, how to stop and so forth, you’ll have to kind of unlearn everything again in order to unlock the next level.
For many skiers, like my kids today, the big challenge is to somehow learn how to unlearn their initial skills and embrace the uncertainty again from scratch to level up.
It’s almost like cocooning yourself up and onwards!
