This is exactly what I was hoping to read and learn here, thank you for sharing!!! It's clear that if you get a one-off lumpsum, that's it, then you got to make it work! I also wonder if all these social security transfers [or later eventually "unconditional basic income" or "Bürgergeld" in Germany] doesn't make larger groups of people in trouble addicted and less hungry to give it another shot. Eventually this experiment could be applied to some social wealthfare nations and see if its cheaper to give some of the recipients a one off rather than keeping them on a small but steady drippin' drop... loved the read, thanks!
