Wonderful story and thought sharing! I love to take words "apart" like this and reconsider what "labels" are meant to mean...

In my head the term "immigrant" stands for someone who left their home country in search for a better life while the term "expat" is for someone who got offered a career-enriching placement to help with his skills in another country by working there.
